Although this is my first pair of Mizuno shoes, it has certainly raised some eyebrows from people who noticed it. Style-wise, it is not as pretty as Nike or Fila shoes. In fact, my shoe is predominately white, with black and silver trimmings. But having used this shoe for 4 months, my verdict is that this shoe lasts and provides great support and stability.

Advantages

• Mizuno Wave Technology cushions the impact of each heel strike on the ground. Feet does not sink down too much with each heel strike, thus stability of the feet is maintained.
• VS-1 technology in forefoot ensures cushioning throughout. Having done short distance races in this shoe, I was able to forget about my feet and concentrate on the race.
• Outsole of the shoe is made using X-10 technology, a durable carbon. The excellent traction provided allowed me to run at maximum speed even though the ground was wet.
• Intercool system provided by Airmesh technology keeps the feet cool by achiving breathability. More importantly, in the equatorial climate I live in, it prevents the feet from becoming wet and sweaty, decreasing the rate of bacteria growth in shoes. Dark and humid conditions are most ideal for bacteria growth. This is a cause for stinking and smelly feet

Disadvantages

• Despite not having a wide forefoot, I find the front of the shoe rather narrow. I have worn US size 5 or UK size 4 for Puma and New Balance shoes, but I’m currently wearing US size 6 for this pair of shoes. Therefore, for those ordering shoes online, be sure to order one size larger.
• Outer lining of shoe doesn’t last as well as that of Puma shoes. However, it fares a lot better than New Balance shoes.
• Women’s version not available.

Final veridct: Performance oriented shoe that provides great stability and some cushioning. Good for neutral runner or mild overpronator. Although it is rather pricey, it is worth the money. 4/5 Stars
