The true foundation

I found a book in the guest room in Joel and Jessica’s home, and being bored, I decided to read it. I got hooked and I even borrowed it. It speaks great truth on our relationship and dependency on God.

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesu’s blood and righteousness,
I dare not trust my sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesu’s Name.
On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

The terrors of law and of God
With me can have nothing to do,
My Saviour’s obedience and blood
Hide all my transgressions from view.

I rest my faith on Him alone
Who died for my transgressions to atone.

God is indeed calling me to Proverbs 3:5 - Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Not by my own strength, but His grace will be sufficient. He will enable me to do that, so that I may boast not of my own effort, but to boast in Christ.
